(segureh) A percussion instrument consisting of a smaller calabash or gourd around which there is a network of string to which are attached numerous small pieces of shell. The gourd is held by the neck in one hand while the other hand tightens the drawstrings of the net, causing the shells to clash rhythmically against the sides of the gourd. Used exclusively by women.
