Historical wax cylinder recording made by Northcote Whitridge Thomas, a British government anthropologist who conducted field research in Sierra Leone in 1914-15. NWT658 (m on cylinder rim). 1. Announcement: Record 658, [indecipherable], July 3rd 1914. 2. Ref tone. 3. Male vocal solo, accompanied by bowed chordophone. Reasonable quality recording but cylinder cracked and bandaged at start.
