Fifaru Drum

This drum resembles a Fula fifaru drum, though the Fula origins of the drum are uncertain as the Glasgow Museum catalogue notes it to be of possible Mende origin. The drum has a long cylindrical wooden body with a tapered end. It is held in place between the thighs when played.
