Knotted Grass Mourning Ring
A circlet made form knotted grass. It is thought to have been collected by Alldridge in the late 19th century. The original label describes it as a piece worn on the heads of women and girls when mourning the death of a chief. This was originally part of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum collection. It was acquired by the British Museum in 1954.
