Hu-ronko Shirt
This is a Limba hu-ronko shirt; like ronko shirts, they are thought to have protective powers, and worn during dangerous activities such as hunting. Hu-ronko shirts are made from strips of country cloth, and often dyed reddish-brown with kola. Unlike other ronko shirts, they are often stamped with black motifs. This example, however, is undyed and not stamped, but recognisable by the triangular pocket and the type of cotton used. Hu-ronko shirts became popular during the presidency of Limba President Momoh, in the early 90s.
