Woven Cap
This woven cap is made from plaited palm fibre, that has been dyed black and woven together to form a ridged cap, with two bosses on either side. The Sierra Leone National Museum catalogue records this as a warrior's headdress , said to have been used by Bai Bureh war boys during the Hut Tax Raid in 1898 . The cap may, however, rather be associated with public performers and dancers.
