Gongoli Mask
A large gongoli, or kongoli, mask. The mask is typically roughly carved with animal-like features, a large nose and wide, toothed, mouth. The gongoli masquerader comes out to provide light entertainment, particularly during more solemn occasions such as funerals. It is not particular to any cultural groups in Sierra Leone. This mask has a down-turned mouth, and retains some of its original raffia
