Female Figure
A cylindrical leather pouch for holding bottles. The bottom end is decorated with tooled and painted leather, and the bag is closed by drawing together the top with a braided leather strap. The strap is decorated with elaborate embossed leatherwork, and is typical of Mandingo leatherwork. Mandingo leatherwork is associated with Muslim elites.
