Historical wax cylinder recording made by Northcote Whitridge Thomas, a British government anthropologist who conducted field research in Sierra Leone in 1914-15. NWT684 (m on cylinder rim; [male sign] and cracked on box). 1. Announcement: Record 684, Mabonto, October 21st 1914. 2. Ref tone. 3. Unaccompanied male vocal group with leader. Reasonable quality recording but cylinder cracked. C51/3082 is the master, C51/3083 is a duplicate.
