Raffia Hat
A conical hat, made from coiled raffia work. It has a high dome, lined with a leather headband, and a wide brim, decorated with dark stripes. Is it identified in the British Museum records as a Foulah (or Fula) cap and likely to be one of the items collected by Thomas Whitfield in the 1820s.
