Black and white photographic print showing a group of Mende women wearing different printed cloths, or lappas, and with different hairstyles. These hairstyles resemble those found on many Sowei masks. The Brighton Museum and Art Gallery has the same photograph, and written in pencil on the back of the image is Fig. 34, p.113 / Showing some of the numerous styles in which the Upper Mende women dress their hair / Alldridge Neg list No 11.
