Carved Wooden Head
A wooden carving depicting a female human head with an elongated, segmented, neck. It has been dyed black. The head has an elaborate hairstyle consisting of three erect lobes, similar to those found on many Mende female carvings. The original catalogue entry describes the carving as a mask , however it is unlikely to have been used in this way.
