Soso drumming
Ethnomusicological recording made by Cootje van Oven. Soso drumming, with three sengbei (without extension) and bass drum (European). Photograph displays two of the sengbei. The sengbei is a conical wooden drum with one skin and sometimes with an extension. It is played with the hands. Measurements of these three: First - 27.5" high, diameter 10"; Second - 27.5" high, diameter, 8": Third - 19" high, diameter 8". The bass drum in this item is played with sticks on both sides.
