Seated Female Carving

A carved wooden figure of a seated woman with rounded breasts and arms resting on her stomach. Though the Glasgow Museum catalogue notes that it might be a Mende carving, it is in the style of carving undertaken by the Senufo people of Cote d Ivoire, or Ivory Coast. This may point towards it originally being a commercial carving, never intended for use.
