Statue of Sir Milton Margai
A life size cement sculpture of Sir Milton Margai, Sierra Leone's first prime minister. The sculpture was made by the Freetown-based Krio artist, J.D. Marsh, and presented to Sir Milton Margai for display in the Sierra Leone Museum. It is painted with oil paint and was made from a photograph of Margai. J.D Marsh had earlier been commissioned to make a statue of Bai Bureh for the Museum (SLNM.1963.19.56).
