Textile Stamp
A wooden carved stamp, called a Kiando Wulie in Susu, used in the application of wax to cloth prior to being dyed. Cloth decorated in this way is known is Sierra Leone as garra . The stamp was made by Maliki Mansaray of Freetown in November 1964, having been taught the art by his son, Kelfala Mansaray, who learnt the trade while living in Conakry, Guinea.
