Gongoli Mask
A large gongoli, or kongoli, mask. The mask is typically roughly carved with course, animal-like features, a large nose and wide mouth. The gongoli masquerader comes out to provide light entertainment, particularly during more solemn occasions such as funerals. It is not particular to any cultural groups in Sierra Leone. This gongoli mask does not have any raffia fringing.
