Silver Bowl Presented to Sir Milton Margai
This silver bowl was originally made in India. The body of the bowl is decorated with a rim of floral designs, interspersed by small cross-legged Hindu figures, and it is supported by three elephants standing on a plinth. This item was presented to Sir Milton Margai, on his becoming the Prime-Minister of Sierra Leone at Independence in 1961, by Sierra Leone Ltd. It came to the Sierra Leone National Museum on his death in 1968.
