Preprema Mask
This mask is one of a number of examples resembling masks that were originally labelled as Preprema Masks in the Sierra Leone National Museum records, and associated with a Kuranko circumcision cult . They resemble Gongoli masks in size and form, but have several distinctive features including a broad, rectangular nose, a heavy square brow, bulbous forehead and inset eyes. The brow features an incised decorative line that rises to a peak above the nose. This example has a very small mouth.
