Kai Lundu Figure
This is a wooden carving, depicting Kai Lundu, a well known 19th century Kissi warrior. The Sierra Leone National Museum records note that Kai Lundu was a powerful war chief who built up the Luawe Chiefdom, Kailahun District, and had trading relations across Guinea and Liberia. He died in 1895. Kai Lundu is depicted here wearing a gown and a cap.
