Mandingo Robe
A Mandingo men's square shaped robe in cream fabric with a simple embroidered design around the neck. This is a very early example of the kind of embroidered gown worn by Muslim elites (hence Mandingo ) in the north of Sierra Leone. It resembles an example from 1832 in the Ulster Museum, donated by Dr Henry McCormack.
