Historical wax cylinder recording made by Northcote Whitridge Thomas, a British government anthropologist who conducted field research in Sierra Leone in 1914-15. NWT675 (675d on cylinder rim; 2 balan on box). 1. Announcement: Record 675, er, Kabal [?] September 22nd 1914. 2. Ref tone. 3. Duet for balangi, a type of xylophone, played by Susu, Malinke, Yalunka, Koranko and Temne musicians. Good quality recording. C51/2976 (better quality) and C51/3068 are duplicates.
